Arrival at Fountain Point!

We have finally located working wifi so we can do another blog post! We arrived at Fountain Point in Lake Leelanau, MI yesterday afternoon. Now begins a week of mental and physical preparation before we head out on our 3 week car voyage across America. With a game of cornhole, a swim across the lake, and an epic volleyball battle already under our belts, things seem to be off to a good start.

Departing Detroit!

After arriving in Detroit, the home of Ford, just before midnight last night, we rested up in preparation for the final leg of our trip to Lake Leelanau, MI. We'll spend the week there water skiing, eating delicious food, playing tennis, and fending off evil gnomes until Saturday, when we officially start the drive out West.

500 miles are already down on day one.  We've made it to Cincinnati where we've traded in our Volkswagon Jedi for an Acura MDX which we'll use for the rest of the trip.  We are both enjoying the additional space it offers for cargo (we've got plenty of that -- photos to come soon).

Aubry has taken the wheel and is slowly re-learning how to drive an automatic transmission.

We hope to make it to Detroit, MI before midnight.

Dune on audiobook, just under 22 hours of unabridged classic sci-fi should make the drive feel a feel light years shorter.  Audible uses DRM -- challenge accepted!

Itinerary Posted

Team Aubray is going west during the month of August.  We'll be visiting/camping at Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP, Grand Tetons NP, Zion NP, Grand Canyon NP, Mesa Verde NP, and Arches NP. We leave in just one short week!
